Aline Berseth
BIOGRAPHY
Coming from Saint-George, Vaud, Switzerland, I am a self-taught artist who’s been in love with the world of ceramics since 2015. First I took courses with a ceramist, then joined a shared workshop in 2016, and finally got started as an independent ceramist when my dream of opening my own workshop came true in 2021 and I could apply myself full-time to my art. Since 2023, I’ve been working in my second workshop, which is in the Ateliers de la Côte (LAC) in Etoy and am also active as a sound therapist in such places as Chambre de Sel in Gland.
Ever since my teenage years I’ve been passionate about awakening to oneself, well-being, psychology, energetics, sounds, and personal development and so have now taken training in professional coaching, in sounds (such as crystal bowls, gongs, and drums), and in various practices such as lithotherapy, Reiki, astrology, and the study of runes.
Today I put all this knowledge, all these understandings and life experiences to service to those who come to me. I facilitate made-to-measure workshops in pottery, seeking to accompany each participant on their path of life, awakening, and healing through deep listening that combines sound therapy and conscious creation with the earth (materialization and getting free with clay), which is such a wonderful tool for therapeutic mediation.
Artistic approach
Just as I consider my passage on Earth as a life made up of experiences and learnings, so do I enjoy letting myself go in experimenting when I create. I am guided intuitively with a disconnected mind, as my hands freely form unique and colourful pieces. I enjoy exploring matter and colours, and exploring a multitude of techniques in ceramics. There are infinite possibilities; it’s both exciting and stimulating. Like the cycles of nature, everything is continually changing and evolving.
Being aware and sensitive to nature as well as to energies, I often combine the sacred geometry of the flower of life and of Metatron, and also other symbols from ancient cultures, in my ceramics in order that they glow harmoniously wherever they are set down. My healthy lifestyle as well as what I listen to or sing while creating will have an effect on the vibration of my creations. My ceramics are at once artistic, energetic, and useful.
In creating I join with the Invisible. For me, art and faith are closely connected, for it is by choosing this path that I discovered and learned to nourish my faith in life, in myself, and in my dreams. It is a path of Light and of unconditional Love, which naturally has its share of darkness, and it has been my choice to nourish this Light and this Love, to embody them and to manifest them in matter through my works, so that anyone who buys my creations might benefit from them. This is my way of contributing to well-being and awakening on Gaia and of honouring Life everywhere.
