Celestino Di Napoli

Celestino was born in Rome. He attended school first in Portici, near Naples, and later in Switzerland where he finished his studies. After working for over thirty years in the construction industry as a contractor-architect, he travelled for four years on his sailboat which he’d made fully self-contained. When back in the Swiss Alps, he decided to prolong the adventure by creating self-contained dwellings, using ecologically responsible materials as far as possible. Being excited ever since childhood about geometry and the harmonies and optical effects it brings about, he began devoting himself to this new passion.

He exhibited three large paintings on the theme of the golden ratio. This became the beginning of his research into the trigger factor and the systemic creation process hidden in the golden number and he naturally went on to discover the universal geometry represented in the zome system.

Using simple tools such as a ruler, a compass, and a piece of string, with no support from modern day technology, being inspired rather by some of the great discoveries in mathematics of antiquity, Celestino applies his amazing discoveries to his designs. He is currently working on a concept of low-priced housing with possibilities of shared or exchanged usage.

Talented and endowed with remarkable originality, Celestino di Napoli has enjoyed working for such celebrities as the Chaplin family, David Bowie, and Versace, as well as for major companies, including the prestigious Danish manufacturer, Bang & Olufsen.
